Spring Lake is home.

Katie was born and raised in Spring Lake and has deep pride in both the community and its school system. Her connection to the district has taken many forms: student, alumna, coach, parent and community member.

That connection also spans generations. Katie's grandfather and father both served on the Spring Lake School Board. She sees the opportunity to serve as a third-generation board member as both an honor and a responsibility—not simply to continue a family tradition, but to make a positive impact for today's students and community.

Katie's appreciation for public education also comes from growing up as the daughter of an educator and principal. She saw firsthand the important role public schools play not only in educating children, but in creating opportunities, strengthening families and bringing a community together. Those experiences helped shape her belief that strong public schools are an investment in both our children and the future of Spring Lake.

Katie has been married for 19 years and is the mother of two boys, ages 15 and 13. Her family is active in youth group, sports, music and the outdoors. Those experiences reinforce her belief that students grow in many different ways and that strong schools should offer opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

If elected, Katie will bring a fresh perspective, thoughtful follow-through and an approach to public service that is reasonable, responsible and respectful.
