New perspectives matter.
Katie's roots in Spring Lake run deep, but she believes honoring that history also means being willing to listen, learn and ask whether today's practices are serving today's students.
Legacy and new perspective can work together.
Katie grew up in Spring Lake, graduated as a Laker, coached here and is now raising her own family in the community. Her grandfather and father both served on the School Board, giving her a deep appreciation for service to the district and the responsibility that comes with it.
She is not running to create unnecessary conflict or simply preserve the status quo. She wants to bring new ideas and perspectives while approaching board service reasonably, responsibly and respectfully.
That means recognizing Spring Lake's traditional strengths while remaining open to new academic pathways, career opportunities, athletics and extracurricular activities that reflect the students of today and the world they will enter after graduation.
